Starting ASAP
Tilehurst, Reading
Long term temporary
£75-£85 per day


Reed Education Reading are excited to be working in partnership with an "Outstanding" school in West Reading to support in recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to start as soon as possible.


The school look after young people with a broad range of special educational needs and disabilities, including those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD, SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PmLD),Physical Disabilities (PD), Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and Complex Needs.


Who are we looking for?

  • Qualified or unqualified Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants or Learning Mentors.
  • Someone with experience or good understanding of special needs, specifically autism and learning difficulties.
  • A strong and resilient person with a passion for looking after children with special needs.

What will the role in include?

  • Working 1:1 and in small groups in and out of the classroom environment.
  • Following the direction and instruction of the class teacher and senior members of staff.
  • Ensuring students have access to learning, providing support in explaining objectives, helping with reading and writing and other barriers to learning.
  • Providing daytoday care for children with special needs and disabilities.
  • Assisting students by way of manual handling, supporting with movement through apparatus.
  • Supporting students, where required with toileting and mealtimes.
