As part of this recruitment drive, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the London Borough of Camden as their Head of Neighbourhoods (Housing Services).

This is a defining moment to be joining Camden, during a time when they are seeking to change the culture of Housing services and improve their residents experience.

Ensuring the provision of safe, secure and sustainable housing to increase social equality and achieve the best outcomes for Camden residents.


The role
We are working to find a Head of Neighbourhoods (Housing Services) who will report into the Director of Housing.

You will provide strategic leadership and direction to a range of teams providing tenancy management, resident engagement, estate management and caretaking services to Camden's general needs and sheltered housing tenants and leaseholders.


The role involves building strategic relationships with stakeholders including Children's Services, Adult Social Care services, the Metropolitan Police, resident representatives and Camden's thriving community and voluntary sector to effectively influence the delivery of improved services and outcomes for residents, and to increase the connectedness and sense of belonging to have positive impacts on Camden communities.


As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of Neighbourhoods (Housing Services) will keep abreast of legislative, regulatory and sector change s; drive cultural and organisation change embedding a strong distinctive performance culture that includes engagement of user groups; and empower and develop people to ensure Camden remains at the forefront of innovative and empathetic service delivery.


About you


This role requires you to be an exceptional Housing leader with enthusiasm about the council's ambition to deliver We Make Camden and wider corporate agendas.

You will be passionate about ensuring that services are delivered with the best outcomes for residents at its heart.


You will have:

  • Senior Management experience within tenancy management, estate management and caretaking, antisocial behaviour, tenancy sustainment, resident engagement and community wellbeing.
  • Experience of being outcomes focused.
  • Worked closely with Development teams to ensure the delivery of successful and sustainable housing schemes.
  • Possess exemplary budget management experience.
  • Have managed relationships with members and be able to respond to complex professional or politically sensitive issues.

Work Environment


The post holder will work from Council buildings or from home in line with Council policies in an 'agile' way in a flexible and paperless work environment, prioritising their own work within the empowered and enabled team culture recognising and utilising the expertise of others where appropriate.
