Are you looking for a new procurement challenge? Want to join an award winning procurement team in a FTSE100 company who are passionate about sustainability?


Our Procurement and Contract Management team are looking to appoint a Category Lead working within our MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations), PPE and Labs Category with a portfolio of c.£15-20m per year.


EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW


Working from either our Raynesway or Coventry office, this role is responsible for running and leading on; tenders, implementing contracts, developing SLAs and KPIs, managing supply chain risk and lead on negotiations with suppliers.

Some of your other key accountabilities in this role will be:

  • Responsible for the end to end strategic management of the MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations), PPE and Labs category.
  • To own and drive improvement in commercial and contract performance whilst managing risk to deliver the best possible value.
  • To clearly understand supply markets, suppliers, and interdependencies in the category, assessing future trends, opportunities, and risks and develop an expert knowledge of their category.
  • Working with operational and stores teams to define, develop, and present clear and concise longterm strategic sourcing plans to ensure business needs are met, delivering value adding opportunities and innovation.
  • To identify supply chain risk and work with our supply chain and internal stakeholders to develop strategies to effectively manage and mitigate risk.
  • Responsible for implementing contracts through sourcing/procurement events to meet and exceed business requirements and to ensure best value is delivered through the life of the contract.
  • To lead supplier relationship management and contract management, ensuring suppliers are effectively and appropriately managed and driven to continuously improve cost and contract performance (e.g. SLAs / KPIs).
  • Monitor contract use and put in place actions to maximise contract compliance.
  • Support the wider commercial department acting as a point of contact for business functions and not just those for the categories managed.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We're looking for someone with a commercial background, who has a good understanding of Category Management.

Professional qualifications like CIPS are not required but may be beneficial.
