Key responsibilities
Working within the Marketing Communications Team, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the wider King's community and beyond to deliver impactful, engaging events for our key audiences, from initiation to completion and post-event evaluation.
Our event portfolio includes open days, open evenings, offer holder events, campus tours, information sessions, third-party events and conferences, delivered via various formats including in person, online and hybrid experiences.
You will also support on the creation and curation of content for use across events and any other channel as required.
Daily responsibilities may include:
Project management of medium to large scale face-to-face and online events including: creating project plans, managing logistics, communications, promotion, staffing and on-the-day event management.
Lead on the creation of event collateral, signage, merchandise and other assets as required - either in-house or working with external suppliers.
Liaise with both internal stakeholders including university staff and student ambassadors and external stakeholders such as agencies or suppliers.
Undertake administrative tasks involved in setting up and organising events, such as booking internal services, risk assessments, briefing staff and ambassadors, preparing event signage and room setup.
Create post-event evaluation reports and contribute to overarching channel reports and analysis for activity performance.
Responding to enquiries from prospective students, student ambassadors and staff via shared inboxes.
Planning and problem solving
Identify marketing activities (events) and content opportunities to support campaigns to meet objectives that may include:
Developing awareness and interest amongst the target market;
Offer-holder conversion through to enrolment;
Recruitment across different cultures and geographies to achieve diversity in the classroom.
Understand the student recruitment campaign objectives and targets and ensure the effective delivery of agreed marketing activities (face-to-face and online events).
Support the development and implementation of marketing campaigns to successfully promote King's portfolio of courses and launch new courses and/or formats.
Project management
Project management of medium-large scale projects including the planning and delivery of marketing activities across campaigns, including (but not limited to):
Organisation, delivery and evaluation of on-campus and online student recruitment events.
Asset production for events (videos, photography, audio, printed collateral, promotional items).
Management of the campus tour strand of the student ambassador scheme (including recruitment, selection, training and job management).
Communications & networking
Ensure close collaboration with colleagues across the Brand & Marketing department to ensure a smooth, inclusive and integrated delivery of student recruitment campaigns.
Build professional relationships in order to negotiate and influence with academic and professional service staff, to ensure a consistent, comprehensive and cohesive delivery of student recruitment activities.
Develop and manage relationships with external suppliers to support the delivery of activities for marketing campaigns and individual projects to ensure the key messages for target audiences are delivered.
Support the Marketing Communications team and wider department on additional key activities as required.
Work within the Brand & Marketing department on general university marketing activities; team meetings and a range of team building and learning exercises.
Skills, knowledge, and experience
Essential
- Demonstrable marketing or events management experience at a similar level to that required by the job description.
- Experience of stakeholder management in medium to largescale projects/events.
- Detailoriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
