Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Performing bookkeeping duties, including data entry, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborating with senior accountants to support client relationships and provide outstanding service.
- Assisting in the preparation of VAT returns and handling related queries.
- Conducting financial analysis and assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Keeping uptodate with accounting regulations and industry trends.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a UK accountancy practice is essential.
- Proficient knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong understanding of UK tax regulations and VAT requirements.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with numerical data accurately.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and colleagues.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Professional demeanour and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
- AAT qualification or equivalent would be advantageous.
