Description

As Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of an organization, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and providing financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.

You will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by implementing effective financial management practices, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Accounting: Manage daytoday financial accounting operations, including recording and processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining the general ledger. Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial data and adherence to accounting principles and financial policies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data and provide meaningful insights to support management decisionmaking. Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including management, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the budgeting and forecasting process, including coordinating with department heads to gather budget inputs, preparing budget reports, and monitoring budget performance. Provide financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis to support strategic decisionmaking, such as evaluating investment opportunities, assessing profitability, and analyzing financial trends. Provide recommendations to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow, including forecasting cash needs, preparing cash flow reports, and managing cash flow processes. Implement cash flow strategies to optimize liquidity and minimize risk.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, policies, and procedures. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and financial regulations and provide guidance to management and staff on compliance matters. Coordinate with auditors during the audit process and provide necessary financial information.
  • Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and uptodate books of accounts, including recording of financial transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of financial reports. Ensure compliance with bookkeeping best practices and accounting standards.
  • Financial Systems and Controls: Implement and maintain effective financial systems, processes, and internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure data integrity. Identify and address control weaknesses and implement improvements to enhance financial operations.

Key skills:

  • Proven experience in financial accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to nonfinance stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in handling sensitive financial information.

£25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
