Job overview:
Following the promotion of our present post holder we are looking for an exceptional individual to lead on the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle.
You will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic midwife who can work effectively with the MDT to continuously improve the care and wellbeing of women and babies who choose our maternity service.
Main duties of the job:
The Specialist Public Health Surveillance Midwife will be an effective ambassador for the trust, be credible and knowledgeable with the confidence and interpersonal skills to work with clinical, managerial and support staff at all levels across maternity services and the wider organisation.
The post holder will lead on the continued implementation, improvement and monitoring of the care bundle and associated workstreams ;and will facilitate change within Maternity Services including ensuring compliance with appropriate national and local standards.
Your working week will be very varied.
You will need to be naturally responsive to the changing demands on your priorities and workloads and manage your own diary efficiently.
The post holder will need to be confident enough to instigate and drive local change to meet the expectations and standards set by the national Maternity agenda.

Essential criteria:
- Registered Midwife
- Degree or equivalent experience or education
- Evidence of CPD
Desirable criteria:
- Teaching qualification/evidence
Knowledge and skills:
Essential criteria:
- Excellent knowledge of SBL bundle
- Knowledge of public health priorities in relation to maternity and SBL
- IT skills
- High standards of communication in all mediums
- Experience of assurance reporting and presenting
- Excellent organisational skills, flexibility and team working
Desirable criteria:
- Change management experience
- Teaching experience
