£30,229 - £37,664 (Band 5)

Full time (37.5h/week)

Fixed Term / Secondment - until end of March 2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Health Professionals (NMAHP) Directorate within Healthcare Improvement Scotland.

We have two Project Officer roles available, one within the Healthcare Staffing Programme and one within Excellence in Care Programme.

The Healthcare Staffing Programme (HSP) is a programme of work commissioned by the Scottish Government.

The HSP engage with Health Boards to ensure they are informed and have access to support, workforce expertise, staffing level tools and real-time staffing resources in order to meet their requirements of the Health and Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019.

The programme is working to re-develop the current suit of staffing level tools so they are up-to-date, contemporary and multi-disciplinary.

In addition, the HSP are undertaking work to ensure that HIS is prepared to fulfil its monitoring and compliance duties named with The Act.

Excellence in Care (EiC) is a national assurance programme commissioned by the Scottish Government in response to the Vale of Leven Hospital Inquiry recommendations.

EiC is a small team, working closely with Public Health Scotland, to develop quality of care measures for use within nursing and midwifery services.

The team supports Boards to use these measures to identify where they can improve on the quality of care they provide to service users.

EiC is also closely aligned with the Healthcare Staffing Programme (HSP) team in preparation ahead of the enactment of the staffing legislation.

The Project Officer will work closely with the existing NMAHP Project Support Team and Programme Managers to provide crucial project support across multiple work streams.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, has proven project management experience, and is an effective and confident communicator and who works well using their own initiative.

They need to be flexible, work well under pressure, and be comfortable collaborating with people at all levels, including senior management and high-level stakeholders.

We are looking for an individual who is professional, enthusiastic and driven in their approach to work and who is keen to develop and grow in the role.

Closing date:
Sunday 20th August 2023 at midnight.

**It is anticipated that interviews will be held on Thursday 31st August 2023 via MS Teams.
