Housing Policy Officer

Salary - £33,945 - £38,223 (Grade 6)

Hours - 37 hours per week

Contract type - full time, permanent post
The City of Wolverhampton Council has a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate and enthusiastic about Housing.


The City Housing Strategy and Policy Team need a Housing Policy Officer who is committed to helping us deliver on our housing priorities.

You will be a creative thinker with a positive can do attitude.

A 'people' person who understands the importance of partnership working, you will need to have great verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

This is an exciting time in City Housing as we embark on the development of a new Housing Strategy.

Your role will be fundamental to us meeting our objectives and you will work across City Housing teams carrying out a variety of tasks from facilitating meetings, responding to data requests to writing policy and seeking approvals It is essential that you have the desire to support the City Housing Team and actively contribute to us delivering on our priorities so we can provide the best possible service to City residents.


As a Housing Policy Officer, you will have experience in Housing and understand the challenges whilst being fully focused on finding solutions.


The role will contribute towards the development and implementation of Housing related policies, and assist the Council in meeting the priorities of the Housing Strategy and in meeting the strategic priorities of the Council Plan.

Our working arrangements
All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style.

Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance.

Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location.

Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location.

Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
