Main duties of the job:
The post holder will provide front of house reception cover, check patients in and out for appointments and admissions, provide general customer service and enquiry handling to all stakeholders, book and coordinate admissions and outpatient appointments, manage bed boards across Compucare and Cerner, take payment, organise insurance authorisation and on-going insurance extensions and liaise with clinical and non-clinical colleagues across the trust and externally.
The post holder will have financial responsibilities which include liaising with medical insurance providers and international embassies to obtain authorisation for appointments/treatment, providing quotes and taking payments from self-funding patients.

Education and Competencies:
Essential criteria:
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent
Desirable criteria:
- Courses / further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development
Experience:
Essential criteria:
- Previous experience of working in a front of house customer facing environment in a private healthcare environment
- Substantial experience in a customer service environment
- Understanding of the requirements regarding patient confidentiality
Skills and Aptitiudes:
Essential criteria:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer care practice, being polite, sympathetic, patient and diplomatic
- Highly numerate and Comfortable discussing payment requirements with patients
- IT competent user of appropriate systems; Microsoft Office Applications, Cerner, Compucare, IRRIS, CRIS, PACS, EPR, EDRM
- Team worker

- Flexible (post holder will be required to work shifts)
- Team work and ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships within different teams and relevant administrative, clinical and management staff
