Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a number of experienced TAs to work 1 to 2 hours a day after school hours, Saturdays and during the Christmas and Easter holidays as well as during the mid term breaks.
If you are caring or parenting for a child or children of school age, you will be able to bring them with you, provided they sit quietly, separate from the group, and do their homework.
Responsibilities:
- Getting the classroom ready for lessons
- Listening to children read, reading to them or telling them stories
- Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
- Helping to plan learning activities and complete records
- Supporting in managing behaviour
- Supervising activities
- Looking after children who are upset or have had accidents
- Clearing away materials and equipment after lessons
- Taking part in training
- Carrying out administrative tasks
- Support pupils with particular individual needs
- Work onetoone, while others work in small groups
Required:
Experienced and specially-trained teaching assistants can be expected to supervise a class for a teacher who is off sick or undertaking training.
While every class must be allocated a qualified teacher, higher level teaching assistants (HLTAs) would be expected occasionally to lead a lesson.

Desirable:
- Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Level 3 Certificate Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Particular specialisms, including literacy, numeracy, special educational needs (SEN)
- Bilingual or trilingual TA's would be very welcome provided they are fluent in English and prepared to work with children whose first language is not English.

Pay & Reward
- If you are supporting children, you will be able to bring them to the sessions provided they sit separately in the room and do their work quietly
- The rate is between £11:00 and £15:00 per hour, depending on skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications.
- Working hours:Afternoons, Mon
- Fri, during term time, from 16:00 17:00
