About the Trust


East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust provide services to the local community to around 500,000 people, with the regional cancer centre supporting around 2 million people.

They provide care to the community with an annual budget of around £350 million and more than 5,000 staff.


What you'll be responsible for:


  • In conjunction with the Trust Secretary, manage all aspects of the business administration/ secretariat support of the Trust Board, its committees and executive committee. This will include taking responsibility for the preparation of agendas, ensuring that papers are produced to appropriate deadlines, collating, and circulating papers in a timely fashion, taking accurate minutes of the meetings, maintaining and following up on actions and producing summary reports for the Trust Board.
  • In the course of the above, to receive, interpret, communicate and analyse complex information that is sometimes contentious or sensitive in nature relating to the business of the Trust.
  • Follow up, monitor, and ensure the completion of actions required by the Board and its committees.
  • Ensure that proper and effective systems and processes are in place for the filing and retrieval of all Trust Board and committee papers and minutes, in accordance with legislative requirements and Trust policy.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above


You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:


  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Packages e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Previous formal meeting experience.
  • Previous experience in similar role.
