Full-Time (42 hours per week), 12 Month Fixed-Term


Salary:
£26,176 - £30,910 per annum

Centrepoint, the UK's leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Supported Housing Officer to join one of our Bradford services, Far Shay Farm.


About us


We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently.

Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment.

We want to end youth homelessness by 2037_._

Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.


Far Shay Farm is a semi-independent supported living accommodation dedicated to fostering the growth and development of 16-18 year olds.

Our primary goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where young individuals can enhance their self-worth, boost their confidence, and acquire essential independent living and positive social skills.

At Far Shay Farm, we are committed to facilitating a successful transition into adulthood by empowering young people with a diverse set of life skills, including readiness for independent living, education and training, and employment.

Through engaging activities such as country walks, seaside outings, cooking sessions, lifewise discussions, and safety workshops, we strive to provide a holistic experience that not only builds life skills but also ensures a supportive and enriching home environment.


We are looking for a dedicated Supported Housing Officer to join our close-knit team to play a pivotal part in shaping a safe, welcoming and high-quality environment with our young people.


About you

  • Previous experience of working with young and/or vulnerable children or adults
  • Effective communicator with natural ability to build positive working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong written, numeracy and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of working within Ofsted/ CQC regulated organisations is desirable
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Respectful and empathetic, always considering the impact on our young people.
  • Flexible always adapting to changing needs of the service and team.

What you will be doing

  • Create and consistently update personalised action plans for each Young Person, providing guidance during key work sessions and interventions.
  • Assist young individuals in enhancing life skills by utilising Lifewise modules, fostering independence, and facilitating access to training opportunities.
  • Maintain written record ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, Ofsted regulations and GDPR.
  • Working alongside internal departments to maintain the building, and health safety.
  • Support young people with referral to external agencies and institutions.
  • Motivate and engage young people in group activities within Centerpoint and in the community such as, country walks, seaside trips.
  • Build strong and supportive relationships with key stakeholder social workers, health professionals, education and training providers to assist young people in ensuring best outcomes are achieved.
