Communications Surveillance Manager
Glasgow
As a Barclays Communications Surveillance Manager, you will be accountable for identifying Market Abuse and Market Conduct risks within Barclays by analysing the output from the Electronic and Voice Communications Surveillance scenarios in accordance with relevant regulatory and legal requirements, firm policies, and industry best practices.

Working Flexibly
What will you be doing?:
- Reviewing and investigating Communications Surveillance output to identify potential instances of market abuse/misconduct
- Managing the alerts generated by Communications Surveillance controls in line with operating procedures and escalating areas of concern to the Compliance Advisory teams
- Identifying and escalating potential breaches of regulatory rules such as Market Abuse Regulations (MAR), firm policies and the misuse of Material Non-Public Information (MNPI)
- Assisting with the development, drafting and integration of processes and procedures
- Having an active involvement in enhancing current exception reports and developing new surveillance tools, reports and procedures
- Liaising with IT and Surveillance Optimisation Team on technical troubleshooting
- Updating relevant policies and procedures, as required
- Supporting the Surveillance function in delivering projects that enhance both the efficiency and effectiveness of the programme
What we're looking for:
- High degree of proficiency working with IT systems and comfortable operating in a technical environment
- Good understanding of the FCA Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) and equivalent global regulations
- Experience in Compliance/Risk divisions is preferable
- Investment Banking product knowledge is a plus
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Working knowledge of using mainstream Surveillance systems and exceptional Excel skills
- Proven track record of successful performance in Surveillance in an Investment Bank, Exchange, or Regulator
- Knowledge of the rules and trading practices of the main European Exchanges
