Local Recruitment Officer
Derby County Football Club is looking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated individual to join our Category One Academy as a Local Recruitment Officer.
Our Academy mission is to identify, develop and support talented young footballers for them to achieve their maximum potential in a positive, supportive, and professional learning environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop strong relationships with grassroots clubs, leagues, community groups and schoolboy teams to support the identification of high potential players.
- Identify, monitor, and recruit local grassroots talent in accordance with defined criteria, to join our Academy
- Support the existing team of Scouts on a daytoday basis and support the Head of Academy Recruitment with the recruitment of any additional Talent ID Scouts that may be needed from time to time.
- Manage and develop reporting methods using the systems and processes in place.
- Responsible for organising and effectively running recruitment festivals and fixtures at Derby County Training Centre for ages U
- U14
- Responsible for initiating the trialists process, always ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of the trialists, with punctuality and professionalism
- Provide staff members with continual streams of accurate and timely information to support decision making.
- Provide accurate and timely background information to the Head of Local Recruitment and Pre-Academy staff in advance of a player attending their first session.
- Proactively support the Pre-Academy parents / guardians in the Academy system, communicating effectively.
- Monitor and liaise with Derby County Development Centre's and Derby Community Trust Managers regarding players on the DCFC pathway.
- Coordinate and execute the Development Centre games programme.
- To cover matches as and when directed by the Academy Head of Recruitment and Local Recruitment Manager.
- To further build and develop new links with grassroots clubs at a rate of a minimum of three per month.
- Attend and positively contribute to weekly meetings with Recruitment staff and Pre-Academy staff.
- Propose continuous development ideas and methods to ensure the club are at the forefront of new initiatives to stay ahead of local rivals.
Essential skills and experience:
- FA Talent ID Qualification (Level 2 as a minimum)
- GCSE Maths and English grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
- A proven history of talent identification within the grassroots environment
- Experience and knowledge of the grassroots network of clubs within the radius of Derby and surrounding areas
- Experience of working within Talent Identification
- Experience of working to deadlines in a highpressure environment
- Experience and passion to work within the age banding U6-U1
- Strong ICT skills, experience of Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written, with an ability to adapt style to children and adults as needed
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Flexibility and availability to work unsociable hours
