We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Senior Environmental Consultant to join our Contaminated Land & Hydrogeology team.

The Contaminated Land & Hydrogeology Practice is a well-established, award winning, multi-disciplinary, environmental and engineering practice with an extensive portfolio of regeneration and development projects and a highly skilled team; notably with staff winning various awards over the past years.


Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance, constructive support and mentoring to junior staff and supporting their technical development.
  • Provide technical input on and delivery of contaminated land and waste projects / contaminated land and waste aspects of multidisciplinary projects.
  • Project management and technical delivery of a wide variety of projects including management of finances, and programme delivery.
  • Organising / managing / checking site work.
  • Liaison with clients, stakeholders, regulators, sub contractors and other internal disciplines.
  • Supporting senior management in developing new business and clients to win work and preparation of commercial offers.
  • Preparation of H&S Plans for site investigations and managing health and safety.
  • Developing own competence and maintain CPD necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of the role, with support from the business on own training and development needs.

Requirements:


  • Chartered or working towards chartership with GeolSoc, IES, IEMA, CIWEM or equivalent.
  • Experience working in the contaminated land industry or as an environmental consultant within consultancy, industry, regulatory or academic fields with a track record in delivering work, client management and stakeholder liaison.
  • Understanding of the environmental and regulatory framework of UK with respect to land contamination.
  • Knowledge of sustainable reuse of soils during remediation / construction works using the Definition of Waste CL:AIRE Code of Practice and Material Management Plans.
  • Experience of Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Site Investigations, remediation design and verification / validation for a range of projects and clients.
  • Experience and knowledge, earthworks specifications, piling risk assessments, EIAs, waste management, due diligence and permitting (desirable).
  • Willingness to work part time at a client office.
