Job Description:

We are looking for a person with a strong interest in data science to join our team in an internship capacity.

This would be a great fit for someone with experience in Python and general understanding of statistical and geo-spatial analysis.

You will work within the product team and help develop analytical models to answer key strategic questions for us and our clients around fleet electrification, charging patterns and other energy transition questions.

Our product team focuses on identifying the best solution for fleets both in the UK and internationally.

We identify the solutions the market needs across software, hardware, energy management and data services and then lead the design and deployment of these to the market.

You will work with VEV's own product and Vitol's data scientists to expand your skillset and own a range of data driven deliverables.

The transition to electric fleets is a vital part of the energy transition and the sustainability drive, especially when you combine renewable onsite generation (solar) to the EV rollout.

Qualifications:

Develop Python code, fill databases, and aggregate data to answer key business questions
Understand pain points across fleet electrification and create data driven solutions to analyse fleet data
Analyse client data and identify insights and recommendations around electrification pathways
Support sales team with data analysis around fleet electrification pathways
Support our strategy team by creating statistical models to test hypotheses on EV charging demand and electrification rates
Support with the development of a data storage architecture
Develop geospatial analysis tools to identify the optimum location based on a number of variables
Webscrapping / Web API experience

Additional Information

Experience programming in Python and ideally SQL.
Experience working with large, noisy data sets to generate insights and identify trends.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience with building and maintaining dashboards (MS Power BI, Tableau)
Experience working with geospatial data sets and using geospatial analysis tools such as ArcGIS, GeoPandas, etc is a plus
Industry understanding on fleets, EVs, renewables would be a plus
