If so, a career in the Wessex Area Strategic Planning & Partnerships Team could be for you.
As a Data & Evidence Technical Specialist in our team you will:

  • Lead on the development of an Evidence Strategy which will support decision making and priority setting in Wessex Area
  • Lead, design, and implement data and evidence tools, that will enable evidencebased decision making and prioritisation
  • Work with a range of specialists and experts to support your work and understand the evidence needs in Wessex Area.

Your work will:

  • Enable evidencebased decision making and will help direct what we do, where and why
  • Support and influence local plans and strategies which underpin everything we do.
  • Help us to understand our evidence gaps and steer our future monitoring, analysis, and reporting programmes
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do.

You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.

This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

  • The Strategic Planning & Partnerships Team plays a pivotal role in Wessex Area, providing strategic direction to achieve our collective ambition, understand our priorities and develop effective partnerships. Providing robust data and evidence to our colleagues and partners to support our decision making, is consider a vital part of our role.

  • Experience/skills required
  • We're looking for:
  • creative thinker with good data analysis skills who can innovatively and accurately analyse data and information to generate compelling evidence
- excellent communication skills with the ability to draw out key messages and provide innovative ways to interpret and present information
- understanding of how evidence underpins sound decision making and is used to take effective action on the ground
- someone who can build and maintain a network of contacts to help source the most relevant information, combined with an ability to collaborate and deliver with others
- some experience of leading small projects and delivering high profile work.

Experience in the use of one or more of the following would be beneficial:

  • Python
  • ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online (AGOL)
  • Good knowledge of EA water quality and biological data systems
