Page Personnel are recruiting for a finance assistant to join a company based in Halifax in an Accounts Assistant role.


Client Details


My client is a busy and growing company within the Professional Services industry and have 60+ years of trading experience in their sector.


Description


This role is to assist the Finance Department by planning deadlines and deliverables, and taking ownership in the job role.


  • Enter Purchase Ledger invoices on a daily basis.
  • Process CHAPS/Faster Payments/Foreign payments upon request.
  • Reconciling Supplier statements and requesting any copies, dealing with any queries.
  • Producing Purchase Ledger cheques and BACS run on a weekly basis.
  • Updating spreadsheet on a daily basis including producing authorisation sheet.
  • Stopping claims cheques by cheque maintenance system on a daily basis and creating stops in HSBC
  • Dealing with cheques and BACS on a daily basis. Updating spreadsheets and submitting to relevant departments.
  • General support for finance queries from across the business, eg. Expenses and invoices.
  • To provide cover for payments & bank downloads as required.
  • To carry out miscellaneous tasks relating to the function of the department as directed by management
  • Creation and update of process notes for related finance tasks.

Profile

  • Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant experience
  • Flexible in approach to work, well organised, ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High level of accuracy.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Logical approach to problems.
  • Effective communication skills are required for both verbal and written communication.
  • Able to build positive working relationships generating confidence and support.
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Competent Excel user.
