My client, a successful multi-office law firm established for over 150 years, is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their busy Leeds City Centre Office working directly with one of the Partners.


The prime role of the Legal Secretary is to provide direct support to the Partner to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency.


  • Salary dependent on experience
  • Hybrid working available.
  • This is for a fulltime position, although 4 days would be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare correspondence and documents through audiotyping and word processing.
  • Produce documents from the Case Management System
  • Administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with detailed procedures.
  • Prepare mail and enclosures for dispatch.
  • Make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up to date diary for the fee earner.
  • Provide support to other secretaries as required.
  • Deal with clients primarily on the telephone, and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner.

Person Specification - Key Skills

  • Legal secretarial experience essential conveyancing or commercial property experience would be advantageous
  • IT literate with proficiency in Outlook and Word
  • Excellent audio typing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and able to prioritise own workload
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively within a team as well as individually, while being proactive and using own initiative
