The post holder will be responsible for providing care for our elderly trauma and hip fracture patients on the trauma and orthopaedic wards.

This is a new joint model of care with the trauma and orthopaedic (T&O) team based on the new Silver Trauma Unit launched 2021.

Our friendly and dynamic team consists of 3 Ortho-geriatric Consultants, 1 Associate Specialist and 1 Clinical fellow already in post and involves close working with the Elderly Trauma Specialist Nurse as well as the T&O junior doctors.

The post holder is expected to support the Orthogeriatric service and the T&O junior doctors focusing on the medical aspects of patient care, liaise with the next of kin, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team.

There are a minimum of 2 T&O juniors on each ward and 1 for outliers. There will also be opportunity to attend the Bone Health for Older People Clinic (BHOP).
