Senior
Fire Risk Management Consultant to join our growing
Fire team in our
North office.


The Team - Our Fire Safety Division


Our Fire Safety team has earned a reputation for delivering technically excellent work and responsiveness, together with a large team winning new work, has resulted in exceptional growth.


Our Fire Safety Division is represented in all regional capitals within England and Wales as well as Scotland with a large team of colleagues to help win new work.

We are in Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Plymouth and Stoke-on Trent so far.


From concept to construction, our fire engineering expertise helps to optimise design and ensure complex buildings are compliant with regulations.

Our team has extensive experience working on public sector, residential, commercial, industrial and high hazard process construction projects.

We deliver a range of engineering services throughout each step of the development process; from site appraisal, through to planning, design and delivery services for all types of projects.

The workload is diverse with many 'high profile' regional and national clients.


The Role:


Opportunity for a Fire Risk Management Consultant to join our thriving Fire Risk Management team in London & South East.

This is an opportunity for you to join our successful, fun, highly engaged Fire Safety team in an influential role with lots of opportunity for you to develop and progress in your career.


You will play a key part in supporting our Fire Risk Management business in London South East, working collaboratively with your multidisciplinary colleagues within and outside the Fire Division to optimise our business development and project delivery activities.


You will be home-based with daily travel to various sites across your region with infrequent visits to your nominated office, unless it is your preference to attend more frequently, occasional further travel may be required to support isolated projects, or when attending departmental meetings/conferences and continual Personnel development training, during which overnight accommodation may be required.


Requirements:

Fire Safety Delivery

Minimum of 5 years of significant experience in fire safety consulting or related field.

Qualified to a minimum level 4 qualification in fire safety or relevant discipline


Membership of a recognised 3rd Party Accreditation with the Institution of Fire Engineers Register of Fire Risk Assessors or a similar industry related scheme.

A passion for fire risk management, with a focus on end-user experience and safety.

A minimum Graduate level of the Institute of Fire Engineers with an aim to achieve Member status (MIFireE).

Registered with the Engineering Council as an Engineering Technician or committed to working towards.

Commitment to ongoing professional development, maintaining current and agile aware of the latest industry developments and an ability to undertake independent learning.

As a senior consultant, the ability to lead and mentor junior team members is important. This includes providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team delivers high-quality fire safety consulting services.


Proven and previous experience in the completion of Fire Risk Assessments in all types of building, including construction sites and high hazard environments.


Understand building construction and building construction sites, attend site and carry out 'RIBA stage 5' Fire strategy inspection to confirm the building meets the requirements of the design, prior to carrying our 'Pre-Occupation inspections.

Ideally individually accredited by recognised professional bodies in fire safety.

Ability to illustrate a comprehensive CPD (Continuous Professional Development).

Commitment to ongoing professional development, maintaining current and agile aware of the latest industry developments and an ability to undertake independent learning.

Experience in carrying out external wall surveys to support PAS 9980 assessments is desirable.

In-depth understanding of fire safety codes, regulations, and standards such as ADB, BS 9991, BS9999, BB 100 is essential. Knowledge of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and suppression systems, is also crucial. Knowledge of BS 7974 is also desirable.

Experience in conducting full and comprehensive on-site Fire risk assessments in accordance with relevant CDM regulations and follow up on identified risks with a management action plan with impartial recommendations


Carry out desktop reviews and provide advice on building plans, designs, in-construction and detailed fire strategies and construction materials to support clients and associated projects.
