Description

The role of the rehabilitation assistant in critical care is to assist in rehabilitation of patients by working closely with the physiotherapy team and nursing team.

Many of our critically ill patients require either physical rehabilitation or/and cognitive rehabilitation. The role involves reduction in delirium, assisting patients with their daily activities of living.

You may be required to work cross site - shuttle bus provided.

Basingstoke is a 18 bedded critical care and Winchester has a 9 bedded critical care. Please look on the Hampshire hospitals for details regarding the Hospital and Critical care.

  • Prioritises own workload, regularly reporting back to line manager and lead physiotherapy.
  • To ensure patient safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity, compassion, and courtesy in accordance with Trust values.
  • Answer the telephone in a professional and welcoming manner, responding to queries where possible and escalating appropriated enquiries to the nursing or medical team.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Rehabilitation planning for patients
  • Carrying out dynamic methods of rehabilitation with patients and families.
