An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Ward Administrator to join Special Care Baby Unit at Glangwili Hospital.


We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic person with experience of working as part of a team, previous NHS experience would be welcomed.


The post holder will have excellent communication skills and be competent in independently organising their daily work schedule, whilst being able to work well under pressure.


The role will include working closely with the Unit Manager, providing the role of a personal assistant and ensuring all aspects of ward administration is kept up to date, whilst maintaining confidentiality and having professional integrity with sensitive information.


Other duties include:


  • Opening correspondence and prioritising for unit manager
Schedule appointments and arrange meeting

Collate information, draft letters

Use hospital IT software including Allocate, Datix ect. (training will be provided)

Support record keeping for staff attendance as well as monitoring sickness

Assist with PADR and booking training

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Glangwili General Hospital is situated in Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire is in West Wales. It is one of four acute care providers within Hywel Dda University Health Board.
