We are looking for passionate individuals, who have a keen interest in our patient groups; the cross site department has recently returned to maintaining diagnostic targets for lung function and sleep investigations and is proud of this significant achievement and plans are now being developed to deliver sleep and respiratory care in more novel ways to patients in the surrounding community.

Our lung function services are busy dynamic services spread across two main acute hospital sites; compromising Nottingham University Hospitals.

The trust supports over 12,000 patients receiving therapy for sleep apnea and also more specific ventilation support for other patient groups.

Under normal circumstances we perform more than 2,000 lung function investigations per year. You will be joining established teams within NUH who have recently become aligned under new leadership.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will possess a good BSc in Physiology or the equivalent and have or are willing to gain the ARTP practitioner qualifications in lung function and sleep.


Your skills will be most useful in performing lung function lists, with exposure to bronchial challenge testing, cardio pulmonary exercise testing, sleep diagnostics, initiation of treatment including follow up review of therapy.

  • BSc Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science
Desirable criteria

  • RCCP/AHCS registration

Essential criteria

  • Proficient in using wide range of diagnostic equipment, and in the recognition of faults, calibration and quality control issues.
Desirable criteria

  • ARTP associate / Practitioner qualification
  • Experience at providing training support to respiratory / sleep ATO's or BSc Degree Apprentice students
Communication

Essential criteria

  • Established communication skills needed to discuss patient treatment plans with patients, medical teams and other health care providers
Experience

  • Evidence of experience working in diagnostic sleep physiology; diagnostic investigations and intiation of CPAP and NIV

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
