The Role:To deliver the Maternal Healthy Weight programme and be actively involved in stakeholder engagement in order to drive referrals into the service.
Key responsibilities:

- Deliver the Maternal Healthy Lifestyles service ensuring an action orientated approach to learning to support a full range of individuals to engage.
- Be responsible for supporting pregnant people to achieve their goals which promote healthy weightgain in pregnancy and safe weightloss postnatally in a sustainable way delivery should account for 80% of a practitioners time.
- Administration tasks and processes designed to engage clients onto programmes. For example, telephoning clients to book appointments, sending out communications, telephoning clients for catch up calls.
- Support and encourage pregnant people to set realistic goals in terms of behaviour change and achieving positive healthy outcomes.
- Use psychological coaching strategies, including motivational interviewing, goal setting and cognitive communication, behaviour therapy skills to negotiate change and overcoming barriers to achieving goals.
- Educate adults by facilitating interactive and engaging sessions on dietary and healthy eating advice and physical activity.
- Lead inclusive, fun, motivating and positive lifestyle experiences, considering the needs of the members on the Maternal Healthy Lifestyles service.
- Promote a flexible approach to engaging with the Maternal Healthy Weight Programme
- Ensure there is the regular communication with participants between sessions, ring those who do not show up and conduct followup calls and drop in sessions on a regular basis.
- Conducting exit interviews with those who choose to disengage from the service.
- Be sensitive and supportive to the psychological and physiological needs of pregnant people, and to signpost to additional support where appropriate.
- Regularly evaluate the success of the Maternal Healthy Weight Programme and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement in health outcomes.
