Full-time 36 hours per week, flexible hybrid position.

This is an exciting time to be working in Croydon.

We are currently looking to recruit a Community and conservation Team leader to be part of a busy Parks services Development team.

We are looking for an experienced Conservation team officer manager to join Croydon's Parks team.


This postholder will lead the development and implementation of conservation initiatives covering 127 parks, among them four Sites of Special Scientific Interest and three Local Nature Reserves, while at the same time provide guidance and support to our 50 friends of parks groups.

The postholder will also be responsible for the day to day management of two country side park wardens,


This is an exciting time to join the recently created Parks team and provide the steer and guidance needed to make Croydon a yet more biodiversity borough with the help of a diverse team.


We are looking for someone with a track record of Conservation management including staff management, experience leading the strategic development of conservation plans including fundraising and partnerships is also important.

Dealing with Councillor and MP enquires as well as enquiries that come from the general public.

Promote the active participation of the public, working closely with residents, community groups, charities, sponsors and third-party organisations.

To represent the council at meetings, etc.

Specifications


Will occasionally be required to work outside normal office hours, attend meetings, courses, and events both within and outside the borough of Croydon.
