A HSE Advisor is sought by a manufacturing company in the Sunderland area to support the Health, Safety and Environmental requirements of the business to ensure compliance with legal, local and national requirements.


THE JOB


You will be responsible for producing risk assessments, writing safe working procedures, undertaking COSHH, DSE & manual handling assessments and conducting all Health & Safety inductions and training.

You will be involved in introducing an EMS as the companyis in the process of looking to gain ISO14001 accreditation.

You will also carry out accident investigations, maintain the HSE filing systems (including accidents, incidents and near misses) and promote a culture of good practice regarding health & safety.


You will also be responsible for Fire Safety, First Aid, PPE Assessments, emergency lighting tests, hazardous waste disposal, LEV testing and ensuring that contractors have relevant insurance, method statements and permit to work documentation.

You willalso be the main point of contact for HSE audits, undertake in-house environmental auditing and carry out Housekeeping safety & environmental walkabouts (lead these and involve the Production Leadership Team to start with and the hand the housekeeping inspectionsover, and review them and escalate repeated concerns)
