Optimum Recruitment Group are proud to be working with this fantastic marketing business whose head office is based in Harrogate, who are looking to appointment to a newly created role of Group Financial Accountant.

You will have oversight of the Group as a whole as it continues its expansion and growth agenda and the role will involve working closely with the Chief Finance Officer and Group Financial Controller.

You will be responsible for the statutory and management accounts preparation, working closing with other members of the finance team and auditors.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong individual that wishes to gain oversight of the business as a wholeand who is looking to develop within a Group environment.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with the Group Financial Controller to determine the appropriate accounting treatment for new acquisitions within the Group entity.
  • Lead the restatement of acquisition companies accounts to align with Group policies.
  • Responsibility for the consolidation of monthly management accounts for the Board.
  • Assist the Finance team with preparation of audit information for the Statutory accounts.
  • Supporting the wider finance team with advice on technical accounting issues.
  • Manage the ledger for the corporate entities.
  • Liaise with auditors and advisers as necessary.


We are looking for an ambitious individual, who has a genuine passion for developing their career within Finance and the Group.

You will need to be highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Can you demonstrate the following skills and experience, if so we would love to hear from you:

  • Newly qualified accountant is essential.
  • Experience of consolidated accounting is essential.
  • Experience of accounting for acquisitions is preferable.
  • Proactive and selfmotivated with the ability to take initiative and ownership.
  • The ability to prioritise work in a fastpaced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport at all levels.
  • Experience of Sage preferable.
  • Be a team player, with the willingness to pitch in to work together to achieve both individual and team goals.
Salary £45k plus a generous benefits package and a flexible hybrid working environment.
