Dual Skilled Technician

Contract role

Wimbledon Depot

£28.00 P/H(£32.00 P/H after being signed off as safety critical)
To undertake modification of the depot rolling stock and associated equipment in support of the operation of the depot.

Principal Accountability's

With mínimal supervision undertake Modification of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the modification and production plan
Remove and replace railway equipment in line with drawing and process specification
Remove and replacement of internal fittings
Operate as a member of a work team, as the role of that work team requires
Maintain good housekeeping within the working area
Carry out post modification testing and advanced fault finding and diagnostic activities
Undertake any other duties as and when required within the scope of the modification work

Knowledge & Experience

Must have relevant experience in an Electrical and Mechanical engineering environment
Previous rolling stock modification experience (if not rolling stock: military, coaches, buses, aircraft, HGV) would be an advantage.
Mechanical qualifications would be an advantage (such as NVQ 2 or 3)
Able to act as a member of a multidisciplined team
Developed analytical and problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Work on own initiative where required
Good judgement and decisionmaking capability
Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures
Experience in testing and fault finding
Ability to fully read and understand complex electric circuit diagrams
Ability to produce technical reports
