Description
To be academic lead on all student recruitment and admissions activity for the
school, ensuring delivery of recruitment key performance indicators. To
successfully develop and deliver a community of best practice for recruitment and
admissions within the school, leading open days and applicant days, school, 6th
form and FE engagement activities.

To be the point of contact within the school for applicants and work effectively
with current programme teams on admission process.

To work closely with colleagues in recruitment services, supporting the work of
both the Student Recruitment Plan and the Student Success Plan.

Key Responsibilities

Faculty Specific:

  • To be the primary point of contact in the school for recruitment and
admissions, and a central source of expertise and support to applicants and
staff.

  • To collaborate with student recruitment services to devise data driven and
evidence led, school recruitment plans.

  • To ensure engaging activity is delivered by the school to maximise applicant
conversion.

  • To consider and adopt offer making methods that are in line with our
ambitions and set us apart.

  • To develop and maintain productive networking and liaison with staff in other
faculties and services to ensure those involved with student recruitment and
admissions are informed and up to date, and best practice shared.

  • To maintain an overall understanding of the admissions process as well as
league tables, and to have an overview of competitor tariffs to ensure the
school is positioned accordingly.

  • To follow the developments of new and emerging school level qualifications,
assessing fit to learning outcomes and pre-requisite entry criteria; monitoring
and adjusting for Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body (PSRB)
requirements as appropriate.

  • To make informed academic judgements regarding admissions.
  • To measure the impact and value of recruitment and admissions activity to
inform future action.

Circumstances:

A flexible approach to working hours will be required to coincide with key
recruitment and admissions activity, including evenings and weekends.

Some travel may be required.

Liaison with our Campuses in London and Hong Kong as well as our Transnational
Education (TNE) partners located globally.

This role is an academic role which will involve an appropriate amount of lecturing
responsibilities in addition to the recruitment and admissions activities outlined
above.

This role could be held by a Lecturer or a Senior Lecturer level applicant - the level
of support provided by the Head of School to the role holder in carrying out the
duties above would be in line with the grade of the role.

tutorials to large lectures.
