Each day at St Chads can vary so you need to be adaptable and ready to take on new challenges.
The role requires you to:
- Provide a safe and stimulating environment for the children in your care.
- Work as part of a team to provide enriching experiences and age appropriate activities.
- Safely escort children to and from school following the designated routes.
- Prepare the childcare areas for activities whilst ensuring health and safety of the children at all times.
- Develop a key worker relationship with the children to whom you have been allocated, and liaise closely with parents/carers.
- Support children with additional needs to enable them to access activities to the best of their ability.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Work within the Ofsted and EYFS framework.
- Plan, organise and deliver programmes of activities appropriate for the ages and abilities of the children in your care.
- Ensure that, where necessary, children's records are completed and kept up to date.
- Care for children's physical needs.
- Ensure the provision of a high quality environment which meets the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds.
- Participate in regular team and staff meetings providing staff with updated reports on children.
- Undertake appropriate training and staff development exercises.
- Deputise for the Childcare Supervisor from time to time.
The Hours:_
This post is 16 hours per week.
These hours will be primarily based around the out of school service we provide but will also include nursery, creche, holiday care, and club for children with disabilities.
We open from 8.00am to 6.00pm weekdays. We are looking for someone flexible in their approach to the working week.-
About You_
You should be:
- Level 3 qualified with experience of working in a childcare environment with 0 14 year old's.
- Have good supervision skill and experience.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Good working knowledge and awareness of health and safety and risk management in childcare setting.
- Able to work with people from a range of backgrounds with tact, sensitivity and confidentiality.
- You will be required to have a clean and enhanced DBS.

£10.90 per hour
