Compliance & Regulation Support Officer


Hours per week: 37.50 Permanent

To provide support in relation to the Compliance/Regulation agenda, in conjunction with the Head of Compliance & Regulation.

Support the delivery of elements of the quality governance framework; to include supporting the delivery of the peer review function.

Support Trust level and Directorate Groups/Committees, providing high quality reports which triangulate data and demonstrate the monitoring and compliance required to provide assurance to all necessary internal and external bodies Scope developments and innovations in the regulatory compliance arena, bringing insight to the Trust's internal compliance program, supporting the Directorate senior management teams to develop a culture of high-quality governance within the organisation and ensuring the regulatory landscape is understood.

  • Supporting the promotion of compliance/regulation, and the quality governance agenda across the organisation, in conjunction with the wider Governance team. Build understanding of, support for, and action in, quality and compliance monitoring as a means of improving the performance and decisionmaking within the Trust.
  • Keep up to date with regulatory new inspection regimes (e.g. CQC, NHSE etc.) for acute services, so as to support the Trust's professional lead/expert (Head of Compliance & Regulation)
  • Support the development and delivery of programs of work and training to provide ongoing support and advice to clinical and nonclinical staff in order to assist and motivate them to undertake compliance/governance related activities using a variety of working methods.
  • Support the development and monitoring process for compliance work/action plans/trackers, in conjunction with Directorate leads, ensuring that robust assurance is provided and regularly reported to Trust Board/Committees/Groups e.g., Quality Assurance Committee and Trust Board.
  • Support the management of priorities and workload and make independent decisions in the absence of the Head of Compliance & Regulation.

  • Provide professional challenge to the Directorate compliance process for all external and internal healthcare standards ensuring that in the absence of the Head of Compliance & Regulation the Deputy Director of Quality Governance and Chief Nursing Officer are fully informed of the status of compliance levels, taking proactive action where appropriate.
  • Support the programme of peer reviews/mock inspections (planned and responsive), and selfaudits so that all Trust services can identify any concerns
