About The Role:

Are you an expert in marine planning and consents? Do you have an established track record of leading and managing major infrastructure projects in the marine development or offshore renewables sectors? Are you looking for the opportunity to lead and inspire a team of passionate individuals supporting our clients in delivering major offshore infrastructure development projects as part of a team dedicated to safeguarding marine environments?


You will lead on multiple offshore infrastructure projects, taking projects successfully through the relevant consenting process, and onto the provision of consent compliance services.

Our work spans the full range of project phases, from feasibility and site selection, through the EIA and consenting process, and during the post-consent and project execution phase.


As you progress in this role, you will successfully delivery consent and post-consent compliance for major infrastructure projects, while developing your knowledge of consent routes in a range of markets, including the UK, Ireland and potentially Australia.

You will develop excellent relationships with clients, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of projects to exceptional standards. Working with Senior Management, you will also influence growth plans and provide regular opportunities to tender for new workstreams.

You will establish strong working relationships, both within your team and across functions, acting as a role model and supporting the development of more junior staff.


You will have:


  • Experience of taking projects through the consent process, e.g. Development Consent Order (DCO) process in England and Wales, the Section 36Marine Licence process in Scotland, the Section 39Marine Licence process in Northern Ireland and /or the development permission process in Eire.
  • Strong project / resource management skills and track record of leading and managing major infrastructure projects on time and in budget.
  • Proven technical knowledge, evidenced by an established track record of providing technical assessments and reports, EIA and/or HRA for major offshore infrastructure development projects in the UK and Ireland (in offshore renewables or other marine development sector) and delivery of projects to a high standard.
  • Proven technical and client problem solving skills / provision of strategic advice.
  • Familiarity with project management procedures and protocols, including experience with quality assurance and the checking and approval of outputs. Excellent communication skills to engage clients in relation to existing and potential new workstreams.

Depending on role:

  • Proven track record of leadership of teams and experience of managing motivated teams.
  • Experience of tendering processes and provision of proposals for large infrastructure projects.
Chartered membership of a relevant professional organisation would be beneficial, but not required.
