If so, join our dynamic team at Brighton & Hove City Council and be part of establishing a new era of Data Analytics

In addition to substantial experience in using Power BI to create reports, we are looking for an individual who can establish best-practice approaches for flexible and scalable reporting from complex data sources, advising others in building and maintaining dataflows and datasets.

This is a key role within the organisation and provides opportunities to significantly transform how the Council works with data to provide insight to all levels of the organisation.

The Council is not far along its data journey but there is an increased strategic focus on data as a corporate priority.

If you're looking for a role where you can make a real differencethis may be the opportunity for you.

About the role:

Tasks and responsibilities

Brighton & Hove City Council has selected Power BI as its data visualisation tool of choice, embarking on a journey to put data at the heart of our decision-making.

A key stage of that journey is our migration from legacy BI platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administrative management of Power BI, including workspaces, security, capacity management
  • Deliver migration from legacy BI platforms and increase adoption of Power BI
  • Customer support in the use of all components of the Power BI platform
  • Training for analysts in the use of Power BI
  • Facilitate and nurture user forums for the Data Analyst Community within the Council
  • Evaluate other components of the Analytics Toolkit
  • Manage delivery of highquality bespoke analysis
  • Demonstrate the art of the possible, delivering modern solutions to solve real business problems
Experience with more advanced analytical techniques and tools is desirable but not essential. Practical experience in other elements of Microsoft Fabric (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Lakehouses) would be advantageous.
