Hours of work

Minimum 30 hour per week, mostly day shifts although some evening and weekends will be required.


The Role:

  • Supporting the Chef in the Estate kitchen.
  • Working to standardised recipes and procedures.
  • Ensure food is appropriately managed with regard to checking deliveries on arrival for quantity, quality and use by date.
  • Ensuring food is appropriately stored and stock rotation carried out.
  • Packing and labelling of products.
  • Maintain high standard of kitchen hygiene and stores.
  • Assist in the keeping and maintaining of all food hygiene and cleaning records.
  • Maintain and clean kitchen and food preparation area.
  • To compile with health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in periodical deep cleaning tasks.
  • Attending local markets and events.
  • Manual handling.
  • Ensure excellent standards of cleanliness as all times.

Essential skills:

  • Experience in a catering/food handling role.
  • Desirable skills:
  • Previous experience of working in a food handling/catering environment.
  • Food hygiene certificate Level
  • Thrives in a busy environment and is unfazed by the variety of the role.
  • Methodical, organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • Training will be provided.
