My client a manufacturing company, within the automotive supply chain, shipping to customers throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa is looking for a Logistics and Warehouse Supervisor to lead the warehouse and logistics function.

Managing a small team, you will have a broad range of responsibilities to ensure all logistics compliance, governance and inventory management requirements are met.


Logistics and Warehouse Supervisor main requirements:

  • Experience working in freight forwarding/3rd party logistics
  • Understanding of international and domestic transportation processes importing and exporting through the United Kingdom.
  • Experience of AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) preferable
  • Experience with UK import processes, UK customs procedures and legislation.
  • BREXIT Customs requirements preferable.
  • The understanding of import, export documentation to support shipments such as customs invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, duty, tariffs, and incoterms is required.
  • Computer literate including competent in Microsoft Office, ERP system expertise, able to access databases and use computer software to compile data and produce standard and ad hoc management reports.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with teams internationally
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problemsolving skills with demonstrated ability to multitask

Logistics and Warehouse Supervisor main responsibilities:
Inventory Management Optimisation

  • Approving purchase orders
  • Ensure necessary raw materials, packaging and consumables are available to match production demand
  • Setting minimum and safety stock levels based on supplier lead times and usages rates
  • Management of finished goods inventory
  • Inventory corrections and adjustments
  • Implement practices designed to reduce monthly cycle count variances
  • Manage annual physical inventory process
  • Ensure that goods are stored, handled and distributed in the most effective manner possible
Employee Supervision

  • Oversee workload of employees in Shipping and Warehouse Department to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
  • Supervise employee performance, including ensuring appropriate training, assessing competency, conducting performance evaluations and developing staff
- ensure employees and contractors work in a safe manner and in compliance to procedures

Receipt and Despatch

  • Timely despatch of customers' orders
  • Generation of transport documents including Packing Slips, Invoices, Custom Declarations, Courier Labels, as required
  • Despatch goods as per customer instructions, complying with all relevant regulations and requirements
  • Ensure that goods are delivered safely, on time and in the most costeffective manner possible
Supply Chain Management and Import / export customs requirements compliance

  • Knowledge of International and Domestic Supply Chain processes
  • Analyse current freight costs and processes to look for improvements to enhance overall supply chain performance and innovate to implement those performance enhancements.
  • Liaising with respective supply chain teams, and thirdparty storage facilities.
  • Maintaining uptodate knowledge of UK Customs and Excise (HMRC) as well as import commodity codes
  • Working with shipping lines, freight forwarders and merchant hauliers providing import clearance instructions in line with Customs Procedures, commodity codes, duties and taxes etc.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customs brokers and international freight forwarders
