Reed Accountancy are seeking an experienced
Payroll Controller to join our well recognised client in the Crawley area.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager this role will supervise and support the payroll administrators andbe responsible for assisting with the processing of payroll for over 4000 staff.


Key duties will include:


  • Support the Payroll Manager in the delivery of accurate payroll
  • Overseeing Payroll Administrators and identify any training requirements
  • Liaising with Pensions team
  • Support Payroll Manager with HMRC RTI reporting
  • Support Payroll Manager with payment of taxes at the end of each payroll period
  • Complete P11D reporting
  • Creating and sending BACS files
  • Reconciling PAYE and completing payment paperwork
  • Reconciling imported information with HR reports
  • Maintaining and updating staff data
  • Assisting in the running of monthly payrolls
  • Updating sickness and holiday records
  • Processing starters and leavers
  • Calculating adjustments and pro rata calculations
  • Liaising with people team, staff and local offices
  • Dealing with queries

Key Skills

  • Previous experience supervising a payroll team
  • Inhouse payroll experience including manual calculations
  • Methodical, organised, and accurate
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
  • Good communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Excellent team player
