Learning Support Assistant - Bromley


TimePlan Education are working on behalf of an 11-18 academy in Bromley who are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant who is keen to make a positive difference in the lives of children.

The role is a full-time, permanent appointmentto begin immediately.


You will be required to work with individual children, having special or particular needs, in accordance with the child's statement where appropriate and/or groups of children as directed by the teacher.

You will also provide support to the SEN Manager/Principal/Teacheracross a range of child-centred activities to promote child development and learning.


Applicants must have a minimum of 2 GCSE's to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.

The ability to travel between the two campuses is consideredessential.


The Special Educational Needs (SEN) department, is integral to the ongoing success of this school, and the Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) are a vital part of the team.

They are implementing a number of innovative and exciting changes and are lookingfor an excellent LSA to join them.

You will become part of a positive, aspirational and fun team that values the contribution of its LSA's immensely and help us to help KS3 and KS4 SEN students to fulfil their potential.

Training can be provided and ongoing professional development will be encouraged.


Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with individuals or small groups of children in collaboration with teaching staff;
  • Proactively supporting students with activities designed to enhance numeracy and literacy
  • Supporting SEN students in gaining the ability to utilise IT in the classroom
  • Promoting positive behaviour, raising esteem and encouraging an aspirational culture
  • Working with SEN students to foster their development as independent learners.


This an Outstanding school which has been on a rapid improvement journey over recent years, with results in 2017 within the top 5% of schools nationally.
