We have an exciting opportunity for a
Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager to help grow and develop a high performing Mechanical and Analysis team, responsible for the design of unique micro-turbine based generator sets.


This is a newly created role, for a motivated and inquisitive individual to join a business where you will be able to influence our second-generation product through all phases of its development.


Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for driving new technology, strategy, performance and the continued development of the team, ensuring continued success of producing optimum designs to the highest quality, and at the right costto meet our customer & business requirements, contributing to the overall business success.


Main Duties of the Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager:

  • Develop strategies and technology to the correct TR levels, to meet the development Road Map
  • Lead the team to ensure delivery of the system requirements
  • Develop, manage and empower your teams to take accountability for their part of the system, providing support, mentoring, feedback, and recognition, devolving requirements to an appropriate level, develop and manage your teams
  • Define the appropriate ISO or equivalent engineering standards
  • Create a safe working environment and risk assessments
  • Ensure effective succession planning, particularly for high impact roles
  • Reviewing emerging technologies, methodologies and establishing best practices, to consistently drive down cost whilst maintaining quality, in conjunction with the Head of Engineering

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience of the Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Technical background in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in turbo machinery or other equivalent products such as turbo chargers
  • Strong time management and prioritisation
  • Demonstrable experience of owning, driving and delivering design & analysis standards and processes
