Our client is looking for an experienced Procurement And Contract Officer (Procurement).


This role will primarily focus on residents experiencing repairs and complaints for TA residents and working closely with managing agents.


To support the Procurement and Contract Management Team Managers in securing the continuous development, improvement, efficiency and success of the Temporary Accommodation and Resettlement department as a whole.

To commission, procure, and manage the supply of accommodation, including temporary accommodation, direct lets, and private rented sector accommodation.
To ensure the effective supply of accommodation for households in housing need and providing effective contract monitoring.

The post-holders will contribute to the delivery of ad hoc accommodation-related projects, delivery of property decant programmes, and new contract development.

Individuals will be accountable for the quality and professionalism of service delivery. The work will include implementing operational plans within the service area to fit with broader functional and Council strategy.
To assist with the effective management of the accommodation units held within the Council's private leasing portfolio
Experience of procurement and contract management including identifying and successfully addressing under performance
An understanding of the private rented sector and of the issues relating to the acquisition of accommodation, including security of tenure, health and safety, housing standards, and housing benefit regulations
Experience of working with private landlords and lettings agents
Experience of working in a social/private sector housing environment or related field

Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to negotiate with accommodation providers and the ability to write letters, report, and procedures using plain English.

Experience of communicating effectively to customers and at all levels of the organisation.

Ability to relate the Department's objectives and policies in relation to the service, and to communicate these concisely, simply and sensitively to colleagues, customers and partners.

Ability to manage a varied and demanding workload, and to provide a consistently high quality of work with limited supervision.
