The Human Resources department, within Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust, have a number of exciting opportunities to join our HR services team on Fixed Term Contracts:1 x Fixed Term contract until June 2025.

1 x Fixed Term contract until January 2025.


Working as part of a team you will play a key role in managing HR administrative processes across all HR Operational elements, working in a timely manner and often to tight deadlines.

You will also be required to support other HR areas as well as supporting the HR Services Team Leader and supporting project meetings.

Duties include:

To provide a customer focused and effective Human Resource service for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

To provide administrative support for the employee relations team.


To offer HR support and administrative tasks relating to the delivery of a professional, customer focused HR service for the Trust.

Support the production of timely and accurate information.


Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) NHS Trust geographically covers nearly 6,000 square miles of varied terrain, from isolated moors and dales to urban areas, coastline and inner cities.

To be successful in this role you must have excellent communication skills, be able to develop strong working relationships and have the ability to prioritise a demanding workload in order to meet strict deadlines.

Provide efficient, effective and customer focused first line HR
advice and transactional/administrative services as set out in
relevant department, organisation, and NHS policies and

Process change forms and ensure all changes are entered onto
ESR in a timely manner and that revised statements of terms and
conditions and/or amendment to contract letters are issued within
agreed timescales.

Administer all necessary post-employment checks e.g. DBS,
professional registration, driving licence etc. ensuring adherence to
Trust HR procedures, NHS Employment Checks Standards and
relevant legislation.

Direct more complex queries to the appropriate HR Business
Partner ER advisor.

Ensure that a positive impression of the organisation is given in all
interactions that the team has with customers. This means
ensuring that there is high quality, customer focused
communication with line managers and individual employees.

Open departmental post and distribute as appropriate.

Ensure all filing - paper and electronic - is kept up to date and filed

Provide administrative support to the HR Services Manager and
Head of HR Services in the performance of their duties.

Answer all Human Resource incoming telephone calls and provide
an appropriate response to enquiries. Log the details of calls and
advice given so themes can be identified, and areas improved.

Assist in the provision of information for Board Reports; Annual
Reports; Workforce Plans and outside agencies etc.

Arrange and attend departmental meetings, grievance and
disciplinary hearings, etc. as required.
