About myself


I'm looking for someone to help look after my partner, on all or most weekdays, either for a full day, or for a few hours late morning and/or a few hours late afternoon.

We live between Tregynon and Aberhafesp, near Newtown, Powys.

My partner is 73, has Parkinson's and heart problems, can walk short distances with a stick, but tires easily, and sometimes gets confused if left alone.

I work from home in the mornings and late afternoons/evenings, plus occasionally I need to go out, so we need someone to help look after him.

We need someone to help on one or both of the following approximate times:

  • starting asap: 11am
  • 1.30pm, Mon-Fri, if possible this would include preparing a simple lunch (eg. grilled burgers, microwave rice and veg, that sort of thing) or if we're eating out then help my partner get ready to go out.
- for February and March only: pm, Mon-Thur and if possible some Fridays; this would include preparing the evening meal, which needs to be mostly plant-based/vegan, if needed I can provide simple recipes.


A third option is, for February and March only, 11am - 7pm, Mon-Fri, to include all the tasks listed above, plus once or twice a week accompanying us to town for lunch, shopping etc.

Rate of Pay
- £16.13 per hour if your register as Micro-enterprise
- £12.15 for self-employed (we will supplement this to an extent for the right person)


Tasks and Duties
***- Keeping an eye on my partner

  • Helping him when he walks
  • Helping him if he needs to lie down
  • Keeping him company, chatting, etc
  • Tidying up
  • Light housework
  • Preparing simple vegetarian/vegan meals
  • Any other reasonable tasks required

Type of Persons Required

  • A person local to the Newtown / North Powys area.
  • A person who is not allergic to cats.
  • A nonsmoker.
  • A car owner, or resourceful cyclist (as we live out of town).
  • A person with a cheerful and easygoing manner.
  • A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else's home.
  • A person with an honest approach and a positive commitment to this kind of work.
  • A person who is respectful, sensitive, patient and understanding.

Training
All training required will be provided in house.


About The Job
Pay Calendar Monthly - By BACS.

Successful applicant will be self-employed.

A DBS check will be required.
