An Apprenticeship Education Programme is an integrated work based training and development programme, an excellent springboard to start your NHS career while gaining knowledge and competencies leading to a nationally accredited apprenticeship qualification and possible future career progression.


We are looking for enthusiastic people with a professional attitude, excellent communication skills, positive work ethic and good interpersonal skills.

You will require willingness to work as a team, demonstrate motivation, be willing to learn and have the minimum required education.

  • To gain relevant work based learning within a Healthcare setting.
  • To support and assist in the provision of a healthcare service to the designated department/ward team. This will include direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a healthcare practitioner.
  • Become prepared and knowledgeable within the working environment and work towards gaining a Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship.

  • Help registered practitioners deliver healthcare services to people.
  • Carry out a range of clinical and nonclinical healthcare or therapeutic tasks, under the direct or indirect supervision of registered healthcare practitioners.
  • Provide high quality, compassionate healthcare, following standards, policies or protocols and always acting within the limits of your competence and needs of the department.
  • After a period of learning within a healthcare environment you will work toward the onprogramme requirements of the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Standard.
  • To maintain high clinical standards in line with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
  • To help maintain a clean and safe ward environment.
