Job brief


We are looking for an experienced Baker & Confectioner to take a leading role in assisting in the efficient running of a craft bakery; preparing different types of bread to traditional methods, and a wide range of pastries, confectionary, and cookies.


Baker responsibilities include opening the bakery early in the morning, mixing dough, preparing fillings and finishing confectionary to a production matrix for dispatch.

To be successful in this role, you should have work experience as a craft baker and confectioner, have excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to food safety compliances and quality control.


Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis to an exceptional standard.


Responsibilities:


  • Open the bakery early in the morning
  • Clean kitchen equipment and tools before use
  • Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
  • Bake different bread and product types to traditional methods
  • Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
  • Upholding compliances and allergen controls
  • Developing range
  • Quality checking
Requirements and skills

  • Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
  • Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, dough & pastry sheeters,
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices
  • Experience with cake decoration techniques
  • Excellent timemanagement skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fastpaced environment
  • Team spirit, with a customerfocused attitude
  • Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
  • Certification in a baking or food discipline is advantageous
  • Experience and skills proven in a multisite or wholesale bakery environment also an advantage
  • All Bakers are expected to hold at least a level 2 food hygiene certificate and undertake allergen and ingredients certification employer to provide the training and cover costs.
The role

Monday to Friday, 42 hours per week. NO NIGHT WORK. Some Sundays may be required on a rota basis.


Salary:
£26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Experience:


  • Baking: 2 years (required)
- confectionary: 2 years (preferred)

- commercial kitchen: 2 years (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
