We are seeking an Digital/ICT Tutor to deliver a range of part-time non-accredited and accredited digital and computing courses. Classes range in ability from absolute beginners and will include the new Digital Functional Skills qualification. We're also interested in developing sector specific skills such as Cyber Security, Coding and Digital Marketing.

  • Will be expected to teach across Dorset to meet demand and will be reimbursed for mileage above 20 miles (return journey);
  • Will need to be flexible and be able to teach evenings (Monday
  • Thursday and some Saturdays);
  • Weekly working hours may vary throughout the year;
  • May be asked to teach outside of termtime e.g. ,summer schools;
  • May be asked to coach and mentor other staff as part of their ongoing CPD;
  • May be asked to undertake other reasonable duties such as providing learning support.

In return:

  • You will be a permanent salaried member of staff with no need to submit payclaims. If selfemployed, payment is via invoice;
  • The annual salary and hours are based on a 44week year, similar to a term time contract;
  • If salaried, you will benefit from enrolment into the Teachers' Pension Scheme;
  • 22% of your contracted hours are ringfenced for planning, preparation, marking and assessment;
  • Your teaching case load will be equivalent to 22 hours per week over 40 weeks;
  • You will have an allowance from your contracted hours to attend meetings;
  • Salaried staff will have an allowance from your contracted hours to undertake training and CPD;
  • For salaried staff, travel time above and beyond your commute will be accounted for in your contracted hours.

Classes are offered in over 35 community venues across BCP and Dorset council areas including seven learning centres and online:

  • Boscombe
  • Blandford
  • Christchurch
  • Dorchester
  • Ferndown
  • Poole (Dolphin Centre))
  • Weymouth
We use MS Teams to deliver online and hybrid teaching as well as in day-to-day communications with staff.


Tutors ensure Individual learner journeys are recorded using the six stages of Recognising And Recording Progress, Achievement and Progression (RARPAP) via Personal Development Plans (PDPs) when delivering non-regulated, non-qualification learning.


Tutors are expected to adhere to the Professional Standards for Teachers and Trainers developed by the Education and Training Foundation.
