This exciting UX Design Apprentice role will develop your skills in UX Research, Design and Testing by working on a wide range of real-world transportation products.
These products are essential to the efficient and safe operation of the railway and you will play an important part in their design and development.
You will be expected to work on all aspects of UX design from research, through the various stages of design, to user testing and product evaluation.
Key responsibilities:
- To support the collection of user research data and design artefacts including personas and user journeys to ensure that all design and development activities start from a clear understand of the user and their needs.
- To support the planning and undertaking of Design Sprints and Design Thinking workshops,
- Develop low and highfidelity mockups, wireframes, clickable and visual prototypes and share these with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
- To support usertesting activities, such as customer feedback sessions.
- To support the development teams with ongoing improvements of current products through reducing system complexity and reviewing UI's against usability standards.
- To support the UX Design Champion in the promotion of UX Design throughout the business.
- To work with the GDP Design System team to ensure a process of continuous improvement in the design system based on user and product needs.
Degree Apprenticeship Programme:
Through our degree apprenticeship you'll be making the most of your talents, getting to understand UX Design methods and techniques from the ground up; and doing so with the help of one of the biggest and best names in the industry.
As a UX Design Apprentice you will be studying towards a BSc (Hons) Digital User Experience (UX) at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The core curriculum combines workplace training with an academic programme that shows how to investigate, analyse and design online interactions.

The apprenticeship will also help develop transferable skills in communication, presentation and team working, quickly building the confidence to work successfully with clients and colleagues.
Who we are looking for:
You will also need:
- Minimum of 104 UCAS points at Alevel (grades BCC) or an equivalent (e.g. BTEC DMM)
- GCSE Mathematics and English Language (grade A*C / 94) or equivalent
- Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the 5year programme
