The Role:
The main purpose of the role is to support and assist the Maintenance/Facilities manager in the daily management and collection of all waste streams including hazardous materials.
- Overseeing the day to day collections and management of Hazardous and General waste
- Point of contacts for Environmental Compound
- Management of Airfield sweeping plan
- Organise the Collection & removal of Hazardous waste from site
- Escorting of waste collectors
- Management of confidential waste including collections
- Monitoring of different waste streams
- Daily Recording of waste removals including hazardous materials
- Daily organisation of international CAT A clinical waste removal
- Daily updates of the share point Waste Material Disposal Request
- Control of Asbestos Waste removal (small amounts)
- Fire training ground wastewater removal
- Point of contact for supporting business units needs in regard to waste streams
- Ensuring waste streams are correct as per guidelines
- Transportation of waste to external waste disposal sites
- Organisation of disposal of waste tyres
- Collection and disposal of Vegware Food Waste
- Day to day Data recording including consignment notes
- Support the department with Environmental Audits including ISO1400
- General departmental support within the Facilities Department
- Support the business with waste reductions
- Control and storage of explosives
- Management of airport sweeping plan
- Basic Reactive repairs such as Plumbing

Technical Competencies:
- Asbestos awareness
- Driving Licence Including Cat C
- Essential
- Forklift up to 10 tonnes
- Depleted Uranium Licence
- Training Provided
- ADR Licence (Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road)
- Desirable
- Health & safety awareness
- Environmental awareness of regulations
- Essential
- First Aid training
- Tractor Driver/towing trailer
- Airfield driver training
