Could you be the full-time Maintenance Assistant in Derby (Etches Park), United Kingdom we're looking for?

Your future role

We'll look to you for:

Working under his/her own initiative, to carry out routine maintenance, repair and basic fault finding work on the Class 222 Fleet.
Routine rail vehicle maintenance as per laid down Vehicle Maintenance Instruction (VMI)
Assist Technicians as required.
Operation of powered plant, lifting and mechanical handling equipment.
Operation of Battery Charging/Shore Supply equipment.
Maintenance of plant.
Compliance with all laid down H&S legislation and depot procedures to ensure a safe accident free environment. Responsible for keeping the work area clean and tidy and to the highest standard at all times.
Required to continually look at opportunities to adopt and develop continuous improvement techniques.
You will be required to produce verbal and written reports on work carried out or actions taken.

Detailed understanding of Mechanical & Electrical proficiency to undertake Safety Critical Work (preferable competency in place) on the Class 222 fleet
Personal Track Safety (PTS)
Designated Person (where appropriate)
Ideally apprentice trained with a Mechanical & Electrical proficiency, the minimum qualification would be Apprentice trained or NVQ level three or the equivalent.
