The purpose of this role is to coordinate and deliver sustainable land management activities on the Welsh Government Woodland Estate.
You will manage various surveys such as tree safety and recreation infrastructure, and then deliver contracts to ensure NRW meets its legal obligations.
There will be considerable liaison with various stakeholders, including neighbours, community groups and event organisers. You will manage and deliver habitat management for conservation such as Ancient woodland restoration and riparian management. You will be required to input to various plans and offer opinion on land management policy and implementation. This is a busy multifaceted role which requires good communication, excellent time management and work prioritisation skills.Knowledge and experience of the following:
Experience of working across a wide range of land management disciplines.
Extensive knowledge and experience of conservation management, designated sites, and all aspects of forest practise, including land liabilities.
Knowledge of sustainable forest management, UKWAS and forest certification schemes.
Coaching and mentoring skills.
Experience of community liaison and public engagement activities.
Ability to communicate effectively with regulated business and the public, explaining complex issues and gaining support by influencing.
